We have the Wrong President for Today’s Problems

We have the wrong President for today’s problems. The US Govt. is going to go after BP? Big news, they should go after them but fixing the oil well is more important. This is not a Republican or Democrat issue. President Obama wants to sue oil companies and take away their tax breaks but, this will not solve the oil spill. Today is day 45 of the oil spill. The gulf coast is a mess and he wants to take oil companies to court? His next step will be to nationalize the oil companies.

That is my 2 cents, What is yours?

You’re right; taking BP to court won’t stop this oil spill. However, it seems our scientists and coast guard simply don’t have the means and or equipment to stop it, since it isn’t part of their job description.

Part of the problem is BP said they had ways to stop things like this when they applied for the rig; however, it seems they lied, since they clearly have no new, innovative, working ways of quickly containing a spill at this depth. BP has also worded their statement about paying for the clean up and job loss in such a manner as to imply the only way they’d pay is in court. It explains their lack of honesty with the amount of oil gushing out, hoping no one would notice. It would give them less responsibility and consequently less monies lost in the subsequent law suits. BP has a bad history of violations. Owning them isn’t the answer but perhaps putting them out of business is.

A nuclear blast as has been suggested wouldn’t help. We certainly don’t need radioactive contaminated oil and wildlife all over our beaches. This is one huge mess that isn’t likely to be taken care of or stopped in the near future. It’s my belief that President Obama is utilizing every agency and personnel that he possibly can. Why wouldn’t he?

(that was probably more than 2 cents )
